If you’ve been keeping up with alternative media outlets the past couple weeks, you probably know that the DEA just classified kratom, a tropical deciduous tree with leaves used for various medicinal purposes (1), a Schedule 1 substance.

This puts it in the same class as heroin (2). Continue reading Why Was This Natural Medicinal Substance Banned by the DEA?

Is Our Generation Doomed, or Are We Just Getting Started? A Message From WECO

Is our generation doomed, or are we just getting started? The blessings and plights of the 21st century.

By The Weco Team, Evolve and Ascend

What the hell is going on today? Are we the luckiest generation that has ever lived, or are we the most cursed?

Like any existential question, the answer has many flavors.

To begin, let’s take a step back in time and view our generation with some context.

A couple decades back things were not at all like today. People were afflicted with something that our generation can’t quite imagine; nearsightedness. Continue reading Is Our Generation Doomed, or Are We Just Getting Started? A Message From WECO

Krishnamurti Quotes: Crisis in Consciousness

via J. Krishnamurti.org

We are facing a tremendous crisis; a crisis which the politicians can never solve because they are programmed to think in a particular way—nor can the scientists understand or solve the crisis; nor yet the business world, the world of money.

The turning point, the perceptive decision, the challenge, is not in politics, in religion, in the scientific world; it is in our consciousness. One has to understand the consciousness of mankind, which has brought us to this point.

Why I’m Grateful to the Jerks in My Life

By Marquita Herald, Emotionally Resilient Living

September 21st is World Gratitude Day and as thankful as I am for friends, family, good health, my new home, red wine, peanut butter cookies and (especially) my dog Lucy, today I’d like to take a moment to express gratitude to an often overlooked and undervalued group – the jerks in my life.

We all have them. Most pass through our lives leaving only memories and a few bruises behind, while others linger on, possibly to teach us the virtues of creating healthy boundaries, but that’s another story. Continue reading Why I’m Grateful to the Jerks in My Life

Can’t Afford Solar Panels? Here’s How Some Organizations Are Making Them Free

By Alexa Erickson, Collective Evolution

Why solar panels?

The solar power generation has emerged as one of the quickest growing renewable sources of electricity, offering several advantages over other forms of electricity generation. Solar energy production doesn’t require fossil fuels, resulting in a reduced dependence on this limited and expensive natural resource.

Solar power production also generates electricity with a limited impact on the environment compared to other forms of electricity production, and because solar power production facilities can be installed at the customer site, they require smaller investments in production and transportation. The Divine Couple: The Transcendent and the Cosmic Energy

By Steve Beckow, Golden Age of Gaia

How do we distinguish between “God” and “the Godhead”?

The question arose recently. Let me expand on my answer here.

I ask that we remember that I’m not an enlightened being and am simply expressing my opinions – based on research, rather than personal experience. (1)

After discussion of the difference, let me briefly bring in the two other members of the Trinity (Divine Mother or Holy Spirit and the Christ or Atman). Continue reading God and the Godhead – Part 1/2

God and the Godhead – Part 2/2

All images of divine Mother and Child (like this of Yashoda and Krishna) refer back to the Divine Mother and the divine spark that we are.

By Steve Beckow, Golden Age of Gaia

(Concluded from Part 1.)

The gunas – aka the Trimurthy – are identical with the Mother’s energy. Her energy has been called “Aum.”

Let’s look at the significance of the word “Aum” from this angle. (We could look at it from many other angles.)

Aum can be visualized as a sine wave, composed of an upward incline, a plateau, and a downward incline. Continue reading God and the Godhead – Part 2/2

DARPA and the JASON Scientists – The Pentagon’s Maladaptive Brain

By Nathaniel Mauka, Waking Times

An uncensored look into DARPA, the US government’s secretive agency, reveals exactly how the brain of the military industrial complex operates. Utilizing the super-scientific intellects of men, the agency may have stumbled upon the ultimate code to utterly control the human race, making all other DoD achievements pale in comparison.

DARPA’s arms reach far and wide – touching universities, small businesses, the public, of course, and also the established media. Despite its collaborative success, the brain running the show is acutely flawed, for its aim is not to protect and serve, but to control. The Organic Industry Wants to Label Humanely Raised Meat

By Anna Scanlon, Natural Society

What is humanely raised meat? It can be incredibly difficult to tell where exactly your meat or eggs have come from when shopping at the grocery store, as unfortunately, no standard of labels exists. Thus, those who want to inject a bit of humanity in their diet have a difficult task ahead of them when picking out food to purchase.

Currently, meats, eggs, and dairy are crowded with labels like free range, cage free, and pasture-raised, but these claims can be confusing and in some cases, misleading. Without some regulation, the labels are often open for interpretation, meaning ethical consumers have quite a bit of homework to do to understand the conditions of the animals prior to their death or production of dairy.
