Psilocybin, the natural hallucinogenic compound found in various species of psilocybin mushrooms, has been found to treat depression, anxiety, and other serious mental illnesses.

As we’ll learn, extensive research into its benefits was lost by the 70s due to its classification as an illegal drug. Research on the benefits of LSD and other psychedelics was lost for the same reason. Despite this, credible modern-day researchers are providing solid evidence that psilocybin is a beneficial compound that can help treat mental illness. Hillary, Pope Rant about Fake News “Epidemic”: They Mean OUR Independent Media, This Marks New Era

By Cassius Kamarampi, Era of Wisdom

(Image credit: Corbett Report, Free Thought Project, Activist Post)

(Era of Wisdom) When Hillary Clinton and the Pope both go in ranting about this term that didn’t even exist a few months ago, you know we’ve struck a nerve.

It seems like they’ve had a trick up their sleeves: a “conspiracy theorist-esque,” broad, sweeping slur called “fake news.” Something we did caused them to unleash this. It must have been up their sleeves, ready for deployment at any time, because so many different mainstream media outlets and high profile people started saying this at once.

But who do they refer to when they say “fake news?” They refer directly to us: our friends at Activist Post, the Free Thought Project, the Corbett Report, ect. Make no mistake, we are some of the largest and most effectively critical alternative media websites on the internet (not quite Era of Wisdom yet but we’re getting there). We Are the Real Movement to Destroy Fake News

By Jon Rappoport, Waking Times

The new mandate is: throw off the tattered tasseled layers of horseshit.

The bottom line: we are the real movement.

We’re the people who have the job of exposing big-time mainstream news as the frauds they are.

Along the way, we’ve encountered some strange ghouls and goblins. Just to sketch in a few recent editions:

Scott Pelley (CBS) is careful to watch himself. His tendency is to shove the message down the viewer’s throat like a pro surgeon making an incision without bothering to administer an anesthetic. Pelley’s been working to correct that. He’s a high-IQ android who’s training himself to be human. It’s not going well. Continue reading We Are the Real Movement to Destroy Fake News

San Francisco Judges Dismiss 66,000 Arrest Warrants Against The City’s Homeless

By Whitney Webb, Activist Post

San Francisco chief judge John Stewart and his colleagues dismissed thousands of cases against the homeless for “quality-of-life” crimes such as sleeping on sidewalks because it “was the right thing to do.”

The United States, despite often advertising itself as the world’s “most developed” nation, has a major problem with homelessness, with approximately 3.5 million currently living with no place to call home. Even though vacant houses outnumber the nation’s homeless by more than five to one, most of them end up sleeping in public places or out in the street. In cities around the country, the homeless are frequently criminalized as are those who offer them food and other forms of human kindness. Despite the widespread maltreatment of the homeless, judges in San Francisco have been dismissing thousands upon thousands of arrest warrants targeting the homeless because “it was the right thing to do.” Continue reading San Francisco Judges Dismiss 66,000 Arrest Warrants Against The City’s Homeless

By Steve Beckow, Golden Age of Gaia

A small and funny incident happened to my friend Len Satov and I on our way down to the last Bellingham meet-up of the year.

It had brilliant applicability to conflict resolution.

Len is the gentleman who introduced me to the ascension scenario.

He asked me to locate a rattle that happened in his car, whenever he went over a bump.

Well, we both listened and, when it occurred, I said it was coming from his side of the car. Continue reading Conflict-Resolution Suggestions

4 Ways Legal Medical Cannabis Benefits Society

By Paul Armentano, Waking Times

Access to medicinal cannabis is improving Americans’ quality of life in ways few advocates could have initially predicted. As the number of people utilizing marijuana grows, so too does our understanding of its societal benefits. Here are some of the latest scientific findings:

1.) More Pot, Fewer Opioids

Medical cannabis legalization is associated with lower rates of opioid abuse and mortality. According to data compiled by the RAND Corporation in 2015, patients are far less likely to become addicted to opiate pain relievers in jurisdictions that permit medical marijuana. Fewer opioid addicts mean fewer deaths, says the Journal of the American Medical Association. Their 2014 studydetermined that opioid-related overdose deaths fall 20% in the first year after the implementation of legalization and decline by as much as 33% by the sixth year. First Urban “Agrihood” In America Feeds 2,000 Households For Free

By Amanda Froelich, Thanks to Natural Blaze

Have you ever contemplated the fact that humans are the only species on Earth that pays to live on the planet? This continues, despite the fact that there is presently more than enough resources to care for every citizen.

As a matter of fact, enough food is produced around the world to feed 10 billion people. However, because 70% of the mono crops which are grown are  feed livestock intended for slaughter, a distribution problem exists. In effect, 795 million people go to bed hungry each evening.

Solving the conundrum of world hunger has been many people’s dream. Hopefully, it will be remedied within the next century or two. Perhaps one of the ways inspired activists will make this ambition a reality is to install more community gardens which can offer nutrient-dense food to local civilians for free!
