An estimated 150 miles from the location of the months-long protests over the Dakota Access pipeline and its threat of Standing Rock Sioux tribe’s water supply, a pipeline in the western part of North Dakota has reportedly spilled over 130,000 gallons of oil into a creek.
The Belle Fourche pipeline lost a total of 4,200 barrels of crude oil, or over 176,000 gallons, before operators shut it down. The majority of the oil ended up in the Ashe Coulee Creek. Wendy Owen, the spokeswoman for Wyoming-based True Ceompanies, which owns the pipeline, said it is unknown exactly what caused the spill, though she claims the prevailing theory regards the pipeline being buried on a hill near the creek. The “hillside sloughed,” potentially rupturing the line. Continue reading Pipeline Spills 176,000 Gallons of Oil Into Creek Near Dakota Access Protests

Sen. Bernie Sanders understands something that mainstream liberals do not: Donald Trump won the presidency in part because he channeled populist resentment toward political correctness into a winning issue.
During a fascinating and free-wheeling town hall-style event on Chris Hayes’ show on MSNBC Monday night, Sanders was explicit: Trump’s criticisms of political correctness spoke to the American people’s legitimate fury toward a political class and media regime that is overly-scripted and beholden to the powerful. Water is life, unless said water has been poisoned and is toxic, then water kills life.
As the Standing Rock movement enters the next phase of their struggle against the Dakota Access Pipeline, and the world has for once mustered en masse for an environmental cause, many incredibly important battles for water and life are being lost around the nation, in want of attention and action, yet kept off the radar of public consciousness.
Take for example, the ongoing disaster at Florida’s largest inland body of water, Lake Okeechobee, which is now a poisoned wasteland spreading deadly algae blooms from coast to coast. This event is the direct result of man-made activity, primarily the policies, politics and practices of surrounding sugar cane farming, although cattle ranching, suburban development, and golf courses are also major factors. Farming, under even the best of circumstances, is a risky and difficult occupation. And farmers often live and work under less than ideal circumstances.
Today, in many communities around the world, there is increasing awareness of where our food comes from, how it is produced, and just how important food security and quality is not just for farmers, but for everyone. There is also increasing awareness of the plight many farmers are under, particularly cash crop and monoculture farmers in developing nations who are often taken advantage of by middlemen and large corporations.
People are aware of this, but few people are aware of the many things anyone can do to help improve this situation. Continue reading Helping Farmers: Healthier Food, Stronger Communities

Suffering is integral to the human experience; but so is the transcendence of it.
It is perhaps most aptly approached as a kind of learning tool, something to propel us towards higher states of consciousness. Of course, this state of perception is difficult to maintain when one is caught in the grasps of despair. However if this innate capacity to perceive suffering as merely an existential challenge could be continually cultivated, nourished and fostered inwardly; surely we would tap into that which we are in the very depths of our being.
This is the art of perception: the aligning of one’s waking mind with the underlying intuits of consciousness. Which is to say the fusion of the personal and the impersonal, the subject and the object, the perceiver and the perceived. Shall we dive in? Continue reading The Spectrum Of Despair and The Art Of Perception

Don’t allow fear to hold you back today. Face them head on and get to the other side. You will be able to assess if it was a real fear or a completely false feeling.
It is fine to move forward with caution, but do not let your fears stop you. Lean on others who have felt the same and understand that with courage, confidence and support, you can get through anything.

If you asked me if I believed in “Indigo Children” when I was sixteen, I would have laughed at you. However, when my hypnotherapist therapist diagnosed me as such a child at age 17, just a year later, half of me was not surprised-I was left-handed, (so are 10-15 % of the population) INFJ personality type (about 1% or less of the population) and a mixed-race child who showed signs of rebellion against the ways of the world at a young age. I also experienced isolation due to having thoughts about changing the world that other children did not have. But the other half of me was doubtful and even sort of angry. “If I’m so special, why do I not have telekinesis? Why can’t I levitate?”
I thought my hypnotherapist might be a fraud. Maybe he was just saying it to make me feel special so he could raise my self-esteem. My hypnotherapist explained, “Well being a star child does not necessarily mean you’re going to walk on water or part the seas like Moses. What it means though is you have a more different and unique purpose here on Earth, than do others. It does not mean you are greater than or inferior than other human beings. It just means you are unique.” Could this explain why I used to sometimes isolate myself from other kids on the playground on purpose? Maybe this was just bogus-talk. (ANTIMEDIA) — According to a “secret CIA assessment,” Russia intervened in the U.S. election to undermine confidence in the electoral system and boost support for Donald Trump. The president-elect has already rejected this notion, though the implications of claims regarding Russian involvement are still unclear.
Once again, this kind of pro-Clinton/anti-Russian-based narrative has already been completely debunked. For example, in his recent article, “Anonymous Leaks to the WashPost About the CIA’s Russia Beliefs Are No Substitute for Evidence,” Glenn Greenwald brilliantly explains why this story does not merit our attention. He astutely notes: Continue reading Here’s What The Media Is Ignoring While Blaming Russia For Hillary Losing
