By Dr. Marianna Pochelli, Prevent Disease, Thanks to Conscious Life News

There is an irrefutable argument in favor of happiness: Happiness and good health go hand-in-hand and scientific studies have been finding that happiness can make our hearts healthier, our immune systems stronger, and our lives longer through enhancements of our cellular structure.

Dr Derek Cox, Director of Public Health at Dumfries and Galloway NHS, suspects that for decades health professionals have been missing a big trick in improving the health of the nation.

“We’ve spent years saying that giving up smoking could be the single most important thing that we could do for the health of the nation. Continue reading 5 Scientifically Proven Ways that Happiness Improves Your Health

By Alex Pietrowski, Waking Times

As the first North American bumble bee has been officially added to the list of endangered species in the U.S., the European government is making a move to prohibit the use of neonicotinoid insecticides, which are widely believed to be a major contributing factor to the rapid collapse of the world’s bee and pollinator insect populations.

The European commission (EC) has drafted regulations which would end the use of neonics, a family of agrichemicals which pose a ‘high acute risk to bees.’ As The Guardian reports: Continue reading Europe is on the Brink of Completely Banning Bee-Killing Insecticides

I confess I have no stomach for it. I go through guilt saying that.

I’m glad to be doing the work I’m doing and honor the lightworkers who consent to serve on those fronts. Continue reading Periscope Up

The World Bank wants its gold mining project in Cajamarc, Colombia badly, but the people of this small town just voted against the mammoth South African-sourced project which would have utterly changed their lives.

Locals had been calling the project “Auntie Anglo-Gold,” which ironically isn’t just a stab at the ethnicity of the folks who were meant to profit most from the gold mining outfit, but is the actual name of the gold-mining company who has already ripped other small towns to shreds with its mining practices. AngloGold Ashanti is a company listed on the London Stock Exchange. Continue reading Colombian Town Rejects $35 Billion Gold Mine in Preference of Clean Air, Water, Simple Life

Garlic: Roto-Rooter for the Arteries: One of the most common kitchen staples could prove to also be one of the most effective natural treatments for heart disease.

Heart disease is the #1 killer in the modern world. It’s the reason why millions of people pop aspirin, blood pressure or statin drugs daily in the hopes that they might reduce the risk of a sudden and premature death. But pharmaceutical approaches to prevention carry with them such profound health risks that, in most cases, the jury is still out as to whether they do more good than harm.
