California Defeats Monsanto in Court to List Glyphosate as Carcinogen

via Natural Blaze

A California Appellate Court sided with the State of California and Center for Food Safety (CFS) on Thursday, affirming that Monsanto’s glyphosate pesticide can be listed as a known carcinogen under Proposition 65.

Monsanto’s lawsuit challenged the 2015 announcement by California’s Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment (OEHHA) that it intended to list glyphosate, the active ingredient in Monsanto’s herbicide, Roundup, under California’s landmark Proposition 65. The Approved Monsanto-Bayer Merger Could Spell Disaster for a Budding Cannabis Industry

By Phillip Schneider, Waking Times

After selling off enough assets to win anti-trust approval, the Department of Justice (DOJ) has approved a mega-merger between Monsanto and Bayer, two of the world’s leading chemical/biotech companies. Although polling has shown that over 90 percent of farmers are concerned about the merger, the DOJ and European Commission have given the green light for what is being called a “Merger from Hell.”

Not only will this merger result in less competition and reduced leverage for farmers, but it also paves the way for a de-facto corporate takeover of the emerging cannabis industry through patent-pending genetically modified seeds. The Monsanto Cover-Up – “Decades of Deceptive Tactics to Make Billions of Dollars”

By Brandon TurbevilleNatural Blaze

Monsanto and human health have never had a good relationship. Despite having been involved in the creation and application of Agent Orange resulting in the deaths and lifelong crippling effects to many American and Vietnamese people and the environment, the corporation did not hang its head in shame but instead rose to become dominant over America’s food supply. Newsweek Hit Piece Calling Organic Food a ‘Scam’ Authored by Known Monsanto Propagandist

By Claire Bernish, The Mind Unleashed

Monsanto, the megalithic corporation responsible for Agent Orange and for inundating the planet with noxious PCBs for years with full knowledge the horrific damage the substances cause to the planet and its inhabitants, finds itself in hot water, again, thanks to a poorly-delivered smear campaign against organic, healthy food — that is, food growing from the ground unassisted by its chemical pesticides and herbicides.

Just as many advocates of untreated food have suspected, Monsanto was caught red-handed disguising its own anti-organic propaganda — dangerously misleading and false information warning of supposed damage wrought to the environment through non-chemical growing methods — as valid scientific opinion pieces in major news outlets whose audience reach comprises millions of readers. Oregon Sues Monsanto For Knowingly Selling Toxic PCBs

By John Vibes, The Mind Unleashed

This week, the state of Oregon filed a lawsuit against the controversial biotech and chemical company Monsanto. The lawsuit stated that Monsanto knew that many of its products were toxic but kept the information from the public for decades and continued selling them anyway. The lawsuit is seeking a minimum of $100 million in damages that the state incurred from cleanup and medical costs.

The chemical that is at the center of this specific lawsuit is called polychlorinated biphenyls, otherwise known as PCBs. The chemical is resistant to fire and used in paint products, electronic devices, and mechanical oils. The chemical was banned in 1979 due to its adverse effects on humans, animals, and the environment. Continue reading Oregon Sues Monsanto For Knowingly Selling Toxic PCBs

Guess Who Edited the “Independent” Reviews That Say Monsanto’s Roundup Is NOT Carcinogenic?

By Daisy Luther, Natural Blaze

New reviews have shown that Monsanto’s Roundup is not carcinogenic. The weed killer is perfectly safe, despite the World Health Organizations proclamation in 2015 that glyphosate, the primary ingredient in Roundup, was “probably” carcinogenic.

This proclamation was met with outrage from Monsanto and a series of “independent” reviews that all agreed that the World Health Organization was wrong.

Of course, Monsanto secretly edited the studies. Continue reading Guess Who Edited the “Independent” Reviews That Say Monsanto’s Roundup Is NOT Carcinogenic?

Monsanto Chemical May Leave Orca Pod “Doomed to Extinction”

By Carey Wedler, Natural Blaze

An orca whale that washed up on the coast of Scotland last year was poisoned by environmental pollutants, according to a report released last week.

The Guardian reported last Tuesday that Lulu, the full-grown whale who died, “was a member of the UK’s last resident pod and a postmortem also showed she had never produced a calf. The pollutants, called PCBs, are known to cause infertility and these latest findings add to strong evidence that the pod is doomed to extinction.”

The levels of PCBs, or polychlorinated biphenyls, found in Lulu’s blubber were “more than 100 times the 9mg/kg limit above which damage to the health of marine mammals is known to occur” the Guardian noted. Lulu had 950mg/kg in her blubber. The average orca in the North-Atlantic ocean has 150mg/kg. Continue reading Monsanto Chemical May Leave Orca Pod “Doomed to Extinction”

Monsanto Hired Paid Internet Trolls to Counter Bad Public Image, Lawsuit Claims

By Carey Wedler, Natural Blaze

Agrochemical giant Monsanto hired Internet trolls to combat negative perceptions about their brand on social media and across the Internet, according to a lawsuit filed by U.S. Right to Know, a nonprofit organization “working for transparency and accountability” in the American food system. The company has also been accused of manufacturing scientific research to support their products.

The allegations come amid 50 lawsuits, filed in a U.S. district court in San Francisco, that claim “exposure to Roundup herbicide caused them or their loved ones to develop non-Hodgkin lymphoma, and that Monsanto covered up the risks,” as summarized by U.S. Right to Know in a press release.
