No doubt, humanity has experienced a vicious cycle of victimhood throughout recorded history, and although many of us have been victims of abuse, crime, or disempowerment, the dynamics that perpetuate victimhood remain hidden. Therefore, before we can end the cycle of abuse and heal emotional trauma for ourselves and others, we must dispel the false perceptions that perpetuate disempowerment.
There’s been much talk and publicity recently over the plight of women subjected to all kinds of domineering, humiliating and abusive behaviour from men. This situation needs healing for sure, for both women and men, and to do this we need to inquire deep within the problem.
In the big picture, it’s also great to see more attention being brought to empowering the divine feminine. In this article I’d like to bring attention to how the masculine aspect can also be healed. I’m not talking specifically about men, though this does need to happen. I’m talking about the masculine aspect of the energy that makes up the universe — the yang. This energy lives within all of us, men and women, and so we can all contribute by healing it within ourselves. Continue reading Healing the Divine Masculine→
The following article is sure to give the skeptics something to raise their eyebrows about. It sounds hokey, I know — flower essences for healing? Honestly, I get it. Just stay with me here, and I’ll explain the mystery of how the vibration of a flower could actually help you.
Flower essences are just that — the essence of a flower, harnessed in a way similar to how homeopathy extracts medicines. Essences are made by putting a flower or an herb into water, which is then left in the sun. Once ready, this water can be stretched out to make many, many vials of an essence, as the water now holds the vibrational imprint of that plant. A small amount of brandy is also added to preserve the concoction, so the essences tend to have a slight taste of alcohol. Are you still with me? Self-honesty is the most important kind of honesty because true change and healing cannot happen without it.
When we are emotionally triggered or challenged by something someone says, logic and honest self-reflection have a hard time sinking in. When in a dispute or disagreement with someone who will not see the facts, and who keeps shooting down your logic, we can feel helpless to get them to reckon with reality.
After years of meditating on this dynamic and trying just about everything to get through someone’s defenses, the best way I know to approach such an impasse, is to ask them: “When you vulnerably look into your heart with an honest mind, what truth do you find there?” Continue reading Self-Honesty: Where All Healing Begins→

“No medicine, no matter how powerful, can replace your own. Life is simple. We’ve made it complex by adding massive amounts of material appendages to it, living in a state of over-stress, exaggerating our needs, believing that ‘more’ is better; but more options and more choices serve only to make an already packed life more weary and complex. The more consciousness you cultivate the fewer choices you need.”
Always at the core of Maya’s teaching is Inner Medicine–the healing power which is innate within every living being on Earth. We need only reconnect to that source within us and live in harmony with Mother Nature to experience a balanced, healthy life. Continue reading Healing Through Inner Medicine With Ayurveda→
For a wound to heal… you don’t keep touching it, picking at it or scratching it. It’s common sense, right? So… why do we keep doing it to ourselves?
Yesterday night, I realized that I’ve been way too hard on myself when it comes to getting past old wounds and insecurities. I saw that most of my stress and struggle were not because going through so-and-so emotion or challenge was so difficult. It was because of my incredibly stress-inducing reaction to every new dis-ease coming my way. Continue reading Why You Should Stop Psychoanalyzing Your Way Into Healing→
