Arising, Making a Change and Living in Alignment

If we want to change anything about the destructive manner in which our planet functions, we’ll have to look at the root of all of the problems we face. Wars rage every day that claim the lives of millions of innocent people – people who, in most cases, just want peace and stability like the rest of us.

How often do we ask ourselves what causes these problems; what drives them; what feeds them on a worldwide scale? Personally, I think our current paradigm’s being kept alive by the division and hatred each individual feeds.

Those of us who are fortunate enough to live in stable countries that don’t experience as much violence as others are responsible for not only addressing these issues, but asking ourselves what we can do throughout our daily existence to make a change. How can we bring peace to a world that seems far too conflicted to create any kind of positive future?

Like I and plenty of others have said, we’re going to have to be the change we want to see by making a real and solid effort to live in love and let everything else fall away.

Every issue we face – from the riots in Ferguson to the senseless murders continuously committed by ISIS – is caused from our complacency, our lack of compassion and our inability to live in peace. Most people in the US, the UK and other developed countries fight amongst each other every day over a wide range of issues – some of which are important and some miniscule.

It floors me (and probably many of you) that so much of the world still doesn’t understand that inner, shared peace is essential to creating peace across the world.

Too many people still don’t understand that unifying with the people around them instead of continuing to feed the division the whole world seems to embrace is the best way to solve our problems. Unfortunately, a lot of people in developed countries don’t seem very concerned with helping fix their own problems, much less other countries’.

A lot of people in the United States, for example, feel a complete and utter lack of compassion for the fighting raging on in the Middle East. As long as it never reaches my country, I don’t care. Let those ‘Arabs’ fight and kill each other until the end of time. Just leave me alone.

It’s unfortunate that so much of the world has adopted this mindset, and even more tragic is that the destruction they don’t want in their countries is already there. Fighting rages on in every country, developed and undeveloped, and there’s no nation on earth that isn’t experiencing widespread turmoil.

All of it results from our division. We’re meant to work together to thrive, and the powers who strive to keep us all oppressed are enabled to continue causing destruction when we act on divisive thoughts and feelings. Every time someone’s comfortable hating someone else, division and war are fed on a massive scale.

It might not seem like the things we do and the mindsets we adopt in developed countries actually feed the turmoil experienced around the world, but we’re in an important position to either create change or allow our world to continue to be broken.

In the US, where I live, groups of people can come together and protest about any given issue.

Yes, right-wing pundits will drag them through the mud all day long, and yes, some people tend to protest about unimportant things; things that take the spotlight away from real, important issues, but this doesn’t change the fact that we can get the world’s attention if we assemble for a good cause.

(For more on this idea, see )

We just have to be willing to stop seeing each other through a divisive lens. We have to see that we’re one planetary family that’s meant to work together, and until we do, violence and devastation will continue to plague us.

As long as we’re comfortable hating each other, hatred will continue to be fed in the collective consciousness. We can put a stop to everything that keeps us from creating a new paradigm of widespread peace and harmony, but it takes more than a simple desire to do so.

Even though protest is important, it takes more than simply protesting. It’s important because we need to break out of the complacent shells that have been created for us by interests who strive to keep us in the dark and keep the violence and bloodshed going, but beyond any direct, social action, we have to make it a point to live in love.

We have to let love guide us, however silly or pseudo-philosophical it sounds. We have to let the stern, rigid judgments of the ego fade and replace them with the tender, caring, unitive love of the heart. This is the greatest solution from my perspective, but it seems difficult for the rest of the world to open up to.

If anyone who isn’t a direct part of the ‘conscious’ community read this post, they might think I’m the most naïve person in the world for writing what I’m writing. Yea, sure, hippie. Go sit in a drum circle somewhere and quit preaching at us…we’re fine with the way the world is.

Complacency runs rampant, and we need to be the generations to put an end to it. I say ‘generations’ because I know this article will reach more than one generation of seekers.

As a unified force, we need to come together and address the complacent unawareness that keeps our current paradigm going. As long as we resist any idea that could create peace and bring us into the future, we’ll continue to be enmeshed in our current paradigm.

There are active forces out there who strive to continuously feed all of the devastation the world experiences, and it’s essential that we answer to them as a collective body that’s willing to make all of the inner and outer changes that are required to bring this planet into the light.

Peace and unity aren’t naïve – they’re essential. Hopefully, millions of people won’t have to pointlessly die for much longer before humanity finally wakes up and realizes this, because we don’t have much time left before our planet either experiences total destruction or utopian restoration.

Our society can only go two ways from here – up or down. It’s sink or swim; fight or flight, and while a significant portion of the population is still comfortable fighting, a growing number of us are ready to fly. We don’t just want to fly on our own – we want everyone to fly together.

The rest of the world has to embrace peace, harmony and the diminishment of division. However hard the ‘elite’ forces that represent the old paradigm will fight to stop us from creating a utopian society that doesn’t look down on any of its people, this is our mission and we won’t be stopped.

In fact, we’ll grow and grow until our influence is so strong that it can’t be ignored. I think more people will climb aboard as consciousness continues to rise, and the construction of our new world isn’t as much about spirituality as it is embodying the basic ideals that’ll help us thrive.

Love and respect for every person is a simple concept, and yet, it seems too hard for the world to embrace. I think this’ll change with time, but it can only change if we’re active in using our voices and, again, making sure we live in alignment with the new way of life we advocate.

We’re in just as important of a position as anyone with power or media influence, but the people in power strive to keep us from realizing it. We’re more powerful than we realize, as individuals and as a collective, and we need to act on our power before it’s too late.

Personally, I think a utopian society is inevitable, but it can’t happen if every citizen isn’t willing to arise and make it happen. This is our time, fellow seekers, so let’s embrace it with the understanding of just how important our voices are.

“Change for the better and not for the worse

“Let’s stand together and break our curses

“We look off in the distance chasing dreams

“But the things that I see with my eye’s obscene

“Let’s plant a new tree, make a change

“Need it for you and me, brighter days

“Will come and you’ll see, make the change necessary for ordinary people” – Daniel ‘Bambaata’ Marley
