Wisdom with Wes: Censored

We have a tendency to censor ourselves; to keep ourselves from saying things we really want to say, and I think it’s time to transcend this obstacle.

Whether we’re being creative or having a conversation with someone who wouldn’t believe the things we say, we tend to stop ourselves from being ourselves.

We keep ourselves from saying or doing things that sit within, waiting to be expressed.

Since most of us are spiritually minded, we have a lot to say and, unfortunately, a lot to censor. If we want to change ourselves or change the world, however, we’ll have to be vocal about our feelings and beliefs instead of staying silent or hiding away during a conversation.

We don’t want to force our beliefs or opinions on others, but there’s a difference between that and simply offering our perspective. If another person reacts negatively, it says more about them than us and we’re best to let their reaction bounce off of us and continue being ourselves.

We don’t gain anything by censoring ourselves for other people’s comfort, and neither do they. Sometimes, we need someone who thinks differently than us to keep life fresh, and we can keep life fresh for others by saying what we feel instead of conforming to their opinion.

We might please their egos if we conform, but we’ll also block our throat chakra and fall short of the potent self-expression that’ll help us change the world. Let’s be aware and open about who we are, even when it’s easier not to be, because the world needs freethinkers who are vocal about how they feel.

Will you express yourself with no censorship today?

Stay aware!
