Man Uses Fortune To Save More Than 2,000 Dogs From Slaughterhouse

From Earth We Are One, December 4, 2015

One day Wang Yan’s dog went missing and he searched everywhere.

According to an interview by The Shanghaiist Yan stated that,

“I went looking everywhere, but all to no avail. Finally someone let me go into the slaughterhouse to try my luck there.”

Wang Yang lived in Helong town in the Jilin province, luckily, though, Yan was not able to locate his missing friend in the slaughterhouse, he came out of the building with a new purpose and a new mission. This young 29-year old decided that he would use a large chunk of his resources and purchase the slaughterhouse and then create a new animal shelter instead.

At the time, Yan had a net worth of several million yuan (which was equivalent to around $156,634), and to him the most obvious of things to do was to simply outright purchase the slaughterhouse to help and save all of those dogs within.

Yan was then able to utilize his fortune to establish an enormous shelter for otherwise unwanted dogs. Yans mission was a huge success and since the establishing of his new dog shelter, he has been able to save over 2,000 lives.

Despite this wonderful gesture of love, according to The Shanghaiist, Yan has gone into debt. Even though he has gone into debt over this loving gesture, he has chosen not to accept monetary donations and instead simply asks people that if they would like to make a donation, then supplies for the dogs would be more than sufficient.

Yan had this to say about his new dog shelter, “I only hope that kind-hearted people will be able to donate a few supplies to help build a home [for these dogs].”

This is possibly one of the most selfless acts that a human has been able to do for animals. I say this about Yan because he went into debt just to save these dogs. An act of love like this should be celebrated.
