How To Stay Sane in a Sometimes Insane World

By Kute Blackson, Conscious Life News

We are living in intense times, constantly bombarded with negative news of mass shootings, war, and tragedies.

It can be easy to get caught up in it all and fall into a sort of helplessness.

It takes tremendous courage to love and stay open. If we aren’t careful, it’s easy to let the events of the world determine how you feel. It’s easy to let the events of the world cause you to contract, get angry, be hateful, lose hope in humanity and be stressed.

So how do you stay sane in a world that sometimes seems insane?

How do you remain centered, and loving amidst all the tragedy that we hear about on the news?

Here’s 3 keys to consider:

  1. Stop looking for ultimate peace and perfection outside. There is no such thing. We live in a world of duality. All experiences are temporary. So if your sense of happiness is dependent on needing external circumstances to be a certain way, you will likely experience many ups and downs. Learn to accept the nature of life as it is.
  2. Choose your focus with intention.Often we focus on what’s wrong with ourselves and the world. Remember that what you focus on expands. And if you allow your attention to be hi-jacked by the negativity of the news, it will disempower you. Stay centered in yourself and your truth. Unplug and filter the constant stream of the media in order to create your own reality and raise your vibration.Rather than focusing on what’s wrong with the world and what you cannot control, start focusing on all the great things that are actually happening each day! And focus on what you can do to make a difference, and create change.
  3. See everything and everyone as an invitation to love.

Consider that the tragedies of the world are actually an invitation and call to your soul to respond with love.

Life is love training.

Even those that challenge you the most and that cause pain on our planet need our prayers the MOST. They inflict pain out of their own pain and ignorance.

Instead, when you bring love to a situation or person, you transform it. You cannot bring about peace with hatred. So when you see something on the news that causes you to judge or be angry:

•Recognize that you are judging. Your judgment doesn’t help the situation.

•Bring compassion and loving to yourself. It must begin with you.

•Bring compassion and love to the situation and all the people involved.

It’s when you bring love to a situation that you can truly impact it.

Every moment and every person is an invitation to love.

Regardless of the situation you have the power to choose to respond with love.

When you love, you set yourself free and transcend your circumstance.

To love is the greatest freedom.
